Maria Chan Wai has tacit knowledge of human biology and physiology from her time at the University of Toronto coupled with her extensive training under John F. Barnes and his mentorship for Myofascial Release (MFR) approach to therapy. In 2018, Maria launched a successful home based practice centered on the sentiments of her patrons. Clients who value customized, attentive and detailed oriented treatment sessions based on their unique needs and health goals. Maria connects with people in a manner that empowers them towards the road of recovery and embracing life to its fullest, making her the therapist of choice for many allied health professionals.

Career Highlights:

• Completed her Physiotherapist Assistant training and entered the rehabilitative field in 2006. She began providing hands-on MFR therapy in 2007 as per Ontario Physiotherapy Association guidelines. John F. Barnes Myofascial Release Seminars training since April of 2008 achieving Expert Level Status October 2011, to date she has attended over 25 seminars in Canada and the United States, and continues to repeat and assist.
• Registered Massage Therapist in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario since July 2014. Offering her expertise and dedication to promoting wellness she works with diverse populations including athletes aspiring to achieve competitive goals in sports and dance, post surgical rehabilitation, daily living imbalances, pre-habilitative goals, and trauma support to name a few. 
• Entrepreneurial mindset. Her greatest asset is creative flexibility in problem solving. As a constant learner, Maria resumed her studies January 2025 at Trent University towards a Graduate degree after completing her B.A. Honours Joint Major in Information Systems and Business in 2024. Her career highlights include experience in marketing strategies to drive consistent customer satisfaction and 20+ years' experience in various industries driving constant revenue growth.

​Bilingual in English & Español. In her spare time she enjoys exploring culture through travelling, working out, and time outdoors with trees and bodies of water specially oceans and waterfalls. She enjoys dancing and sharing her passion in the genres of Bachata, Salsa & Kizomba with other humans seeking to embrace the arts.
