Acceptance, we are all in a historical moment that is bringing a wave of emotions, some are familiar and some are new, our power lies on what we do next! Our Actions/Reactions can be a catalyst. Accept what IS…Start with tiny action steps and see them grow. Give yourself a hug, receive your smile in the mirror, drink a tall glass of water first thing in the morning, and breathe in a little fresh air. As the weather warms up, engage in socially safe activities: walking, hiking, biking. On the colder days, keep using your online tutorials, let your imagination guide you.The key is we all have good days, ok days and bad days, this is natural. Acknowledge and embrace your feelings, it’s what makes us HUMAN.
Many have asked HOW AM I? I am thankful to live and be in a country where I have access to healthcare, food and shelter. I am grateful for your kind words. I am taking this time to invest in happiness. Mahatma Gandhi says: “Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony”.
To all my clients, friends and fellow humans, please be kind, I am not a writer. In these times, where we are missing human connection and interactions, I wanted to test this platform and give my thoughts a voice. A good friend, once told me: "The biggest waste, is a dance not danced due to fear or the lack of a partner". I encourage you all, to feel the song of your life, and let your soul and body experience it. Throughout the years I have learned that THIS moment is all we have, we must give our ALL, in the song of our lives.
For my clients/friends/family, who are working, thank you!!! Some tips to help you be at ease in your home set-up, standing or sitting, the key is to switch positions at least every 50 minutes, it's a great Brain Break. Stand/Sit comfortably, place your keyboard at a level that feels like a handshake, have your eyes look at the top level of your screens. Avoid end ranges, set up extra screens, to have a slight head turn out, (vs fully turning as if checking your blind-spot). Sitting habits involve chairs, but you could use gym balls, half-kneels with buttocks squeeze is a great option on the floor, figure 4 stretch during chair time, wiggle in chair, reaching arms above head, or clasp your hands behind your head, the idea is find ways to introduce movement while being productive. Reset those shoulders, roll them back and and pull them down.
For my clients/friends who are safe at home, but unable to work, I can relate. Many are worried and some are relieved, the duality is ever-changing. I personally have found that a routine helps me. BE HUMAN, I enjoy online 30 minutes HIIT workouts provided by Orange Theory, dance tutorials on YouTube or IG Live, Webinars for Professional Growth, I follow Social Distancing as I go for walks and fresh air, read for fun or growth, meditation and yoga, and I especially enjoy the STILLNESS. Create opportunities to connect with friends and family, pick up the phone and say Hola!. They need it as much as YOU do.
