I met John F. Barnes in 2008 (Image 1: Sedona, AZ). We shared many laughs, had insightful conversations, joked about me taking over his office at Therapy on the Rocks. I co-treated with John, was asked to demo techniques. John treated me and many others. He heard the unspoken, we felt safe to cry, and be held in safety by this amazing human; who was more than a mentor to me. In October of 2006, I was fortunate to stumble upon Myofascial Release. As a Practitioner I knew my life would forever be changed. Now, after many years and many major shifts later, once again I know that Dec. 19th will be a date edge in OUR souls marking a yet to be named feeling. Through my own journey, my intuition, my MFR path and beyond, my unbecoming as Paulo Coelho puts it...I hope 2026 allows YOU to UNBECOME and connect with BEING the version of YOU that loves you, and is proud of your UNIQUENESS. "Maybe the journey isn't about becoming anything. Maybe it's about UNBECOMING everything that isn't really you, so that you can be who YOU were meant to be in the first place" -Paulo Coelho.

Life is fluid, collect moments and memories. Say YES to the things that will GROW you & NOURISH you.
2025 I've said YES to LIFE. I am currently at the half-way point of my Masters Sc. Degree. Went to Saskatoon for an MFR course I've seen many times to support a colleague in their growth journey. Reconnected with two friend I had not seen in twenty and ten years, respectively. The beauty is that even though time has passed, the ESSENCE of my authentic self continues to lead me ON. Added a new dance genre, inspired by my first trip to visit dear friends in Florida and Kentucky, I now line dance a little. Beautiful gifts of friendships, the turns and twists are part of the JOURNEY. I embraced the role and share my passion for DANCING, new smiles and positive vibes all around. And this year I walked the stage for the first time, attended one of my graduations, did the gown and cap. And many more...Often my clients ask how do I FIND the courage, and honestly most times I AM scared, but my resilience GROWS by trusting the process. Engaging the barrier, staying in the NOW, feeling past the MOMENT. This is how myofascial release permeates many pockets of my life. And many beautiful people who I get to call family and friends, new and old, friends who stepped up and others who have left, lean into it ALL. A year with mixed emotions, attitudes, opinions, outcomes, etc. Remember no feeling lasts forever, and no emotion is permanent. As we settle into feeling the WHAT IS, it too can change as quickly as the weather.
"Fluidity of the sea, not the rigidity of irresistible law, characterizes human conduct, especially in the midst of a calamity."-Nathaniel Philbrick As defined by online dictionaries: "A paradox (aka an antinomy), is a logically self-contradictory statement or a statement that runs contrary to one's expectation". As we slowly start to have HUMAN Interactions I've noticed these are riddled with paradoxes. Therapeutic touch helps in many levels, I see changes in emotions, patterns of movements and behaviours; a mirror of what lies beneath the surface.
I invite you to do a journey and see what your own programming says, do you like what you see, feel, hear? Through my personal journey of Myofascial Release, I remember the words from John F. Barnes: "Is this serving you? If not, give yourself permission to let it go". I invite you to gather your inner strength, the courage is within you. "The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy"-Martin Luther King, Jr. Acceptance, we are all in a historical moment that is bringing a wave of emotions, some are familiar and some are new, our power lies on what we do next! Our Actions/Reactions can be a catalyst. Accept what IS…Start with tiny action steps and see them grow. Give yourself a hug, receive your smile in the mirror, drink a tall glass of water first thing in the morning, and breathe in a little fresh air. As the weather warms up, engage in socially safe activities: walking, hiking, biking. On the colder days, keep using your online tutorials, let your imagination guide you.The key is we all have good days, ok days and bad days, this is natural. Acknowledge and embrace your feelings, it’s what makes us HUMAN.
Many have asked HOW AM I? I am thankful to live and be in a country where I have access to healthcare, food and shelter. I am grateful for your kind words. I am taking this time to invest in happiness. “Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony”-Mahatma Gandhi. |
